Q. Is cosmetic acupuncture painful?
Please don’t worry. We use sterile, single-use, silicone-coated needles that are about as fine as a human hair, helping to keep discomfort to a minimum. Sensitivity varies from person to person, but most people feel only a very light, brief sensation. Many clients tell us, “It was much less painful than I expected,” or, “I wish I had tried it sooner
Q. How long do the results last?
After the first session, you can expect improvements in facial tension, expression, and the overall appearance of the skin to last from several days to approximately one week. With continued treatment, longer-lasting results can be expected as the condition of the face and body becomes more balanced. The duration varies depending on your skin condition, facial tension, sleep, stress, and lifestyle. Regular treatment, sufficient rest, and daily skincare can also help maintain the results.
Q. Can cosmetic acupuncture improve dark circles under the eyes?
When dark circles are related to fatigue, poor sleep, tension around the eyes, or reduced circulation, you can expect cosmetic acupuncture to support a brighter eye area and a less tired appearance. When pigmentation, facial structure, or hollowness beneath the eyes is the main cause, the expected improvement may be more limited. We assess not only the eye area, but also the neck and shoulders, sleep, stress, and the overall condition of the body.
Q. I have a wedding or important event in two weeks. Can I expect results from one session?
Yes. Even after one session, you can expect reduced facial tension and puffiness, a fresher appearance, and a brighter, more relaxed expression. However, cosmetic acupuncture can occasionally cause a small bruise. For a wedding, photoshoot, or other important event, we recommend scheduling your first facial acupuncture treatment at least 10 days to two weeks beforehand. Closer to the event, we can avoid facial needles and focus on Shiatsu facial massage. We will recommend the most appropriate treatment based on your schedule.
Q. Can I expect an improvement in nasolabial folds?
When nasolabial folds are influenced by facial tension, puffiness, circulation, or skin condition, you can expect cosmetic acupuncture to help soften their appearance. However, facial structure, loss of volume, and skin laxity can also contribute, so the treatment is not intended to erase them completely. Our aim is to release tension around the cheeks, jaw, and mouth and create a naturally fresher and brighter expression.
Q. Can I expect an improvement in wrinkles?
For fine lines related to dryness or facial tension, you can expect an improvement in their appearance as circulation and skin condition become more balanced. Deeper, long-standing wrinkles generally require more time. While they may not disappear completely, improving the surrounding tension and skin condition can be expected to create a softer, fresher, and more youthful overall appearance. Before treatment, we assess the condition of the wrinkles and explain the results and number of sessions that can reasonably be expected.
